Features the presentation of the prestigious APRA Silver Scroll Award; the SOUNZ Contemporary Award, recognising creative excellence by a NZ classical composer; the APRA Maioha Award, celebrating contemporary Maori music; the APRA Best Original Music in a Feature Film Award; the APRA Best Original Music in a Series Award; and the Most Performed Works Awards for NZ and overseas.

Battle of the Bands National Championship is NZ’s largest and longest running band competition.

The 2015 event will be the 20th Anniversary of the NZ Battle of the Bands. Prizes include recording time, global radio airplay, music equipment and much more. After registration bands are placed into a heat at a venue nearest their location. Three months of eliminations are held throughout NZ, each venue hosting a series of heats, semi-finals and regional finals.

Judging and voting determines each region’s champion – who will then represent their region at the National Final in Auckland. Enter online at www.battleofthebands.co.nz
