At its core, Music Services is a fully equipped brass and woodwind repair shop with competitive rates nationwide. We provide professional servicing for all qualities of instruments and levels of playing. Given the high regard and demand for our work we operate by appointment only. This allows us to have the instrument repaired and back to you in the shortest time possible.
Elaine's international career spans 35 years and she has brought to Wellington a wealth of experience after moving here from Canada. After receiving a Bachelor of Music Degree and a High School Music Teachers Certificate, she apprenticed with Bob MacDonald, a highly respected technician in Vancouver. Elaine is Straubinger qualified and has spent time with Brannen Brothers flute makers, Howarths factory, and Backun Musical Services. Elaine has also taught instrument repair at a post secondary level institution in Canada.
Brad has over 15 years of experience as a repair technician. He began working with Elaine after completing a Bachelor of Music at Massey University in Jazz Saxophone, and has since worked both in New Zealand and Canada at the art. Brad brings a high level of commitment, skill and creativity to his work, and is a multi-instumentalist with a diverse playing history. From trombone slides to sopranino sax he is your man. Taking care of most of the brass and dent work at Music Services he has build a solid reputation for taking care of business.
Edison Castilho (Junior)
Junior recently moved to New Zealand from Argentina. With him he brings many many skills to Music Services. With an experience of over 10 years in the industry, repairing for the top musicians in Argentina, Junior specialises in top end flutes and Straubinger padding techniques and most other woodwind work. As a side project Junior is also working on instrument engraving and crafting his own flute head joint.
