One of just a handful of New Zealand musicians who have truly earned the title 'iconic', Bic Runga returns with her brand new album Belle. The five years since her last album of new material have passed quickly, especially for Bic with the 2007 birth of her son. The constraints of parenthood necessitated a new approach to her work, so she tried something she had never seriously contemplated before - and it led to an artistic rebirth. Bic embarked on a series of songwriting 'blind dates' including a co-write with Dan Hume of Evermore which resulted in the album's first single Hello Hello, and collaborations with James Milne (Laurence Arabia), and Ruban and Kody Nielson (The Mint Chicks). Belle was produced by Kody Nielson and mixed by Justin Gerrish (Vampire Weekend), Tom Rothrock (Beck, James Blunt, Foo Fighters) and Kody Nielson
