Methven is located one hour south west of Christchurch at the base of Mt Hutt Ski Area– one of the Southern Hemisphere’s premiere ski destinations. It attracts large crowds during the ski season.

Christchurch’s newest, purpose-built, live music venue was converted from a warehouse. Good line of sight from anywhere in the room. The focus, from the start, was to provide great sound quality through good PA and acoustic treatment. No back-line provided but FREE PA and room hire.

Sound: (New as of May 2012.) Allen & Heath GL2800 24-channel mixing console (Monitors are run from FOH). PA 2 x Yamaha DSR115 2 x Yamaha DSR118W subs, run though built-in crossovers. Monitors (4 mixes) 4 x Yamaha DXR1 1 x Yamaha DXS15 drum fill sub. FOH 3 x DBX Dual 31b& graphic EQ units 1 x Yamaha REV100 1 x TC Electronics MONEXL 4 x DBX 266XL compressor. Microphones: 5 x Shure SM58s, 3 x Shure SM57s, 1 x Shure Beta 52a 4 x Sennheiser E604s 3 x Shure PG81 condensers. 4 x Passive DI boxes.

Lighting: 10 x LED Parcans, 2 x PR Pilot 150 moving heads, 1 x 1600w Strobe Antari Haze machine.

Engineers: Two fully qualified audio and lighting engineers at no cost to artists on site at all times to assist as required.

Access: Big entrance door with three steps.

The Vic is a mixed use community cinema, cafe and performing arts space. The Victoria Theatre has a green room available under stage, otherwise no back stage facilities. Stage is raked, and curved at the front. Measurements are 9.5m wide, 3.8m deep at the sides and5.2m deep in the centre.
